Delgany Heritage Village : Smart Village

New Ideas to Make Delgany SMART

Delgany Village has joined the EU efforts to become a SMART Village! As such, a number of Ideas and Proposals have been submitted and will continue to evolve as part of Feasibility Studies, Suggestions, Projects and Programs, and we are using this part of the website to keep you informed on the ideas that have been proposed and put out in the public realm to make our Village not just SMART, but the best in Ireland!

First is a Two-Year + Old Idea regarding a designated PARK for Delgany Village!

This is proposal for a new park, with a water feature and a nature trail, on the existing public open space at the Three Trout Stream bridge in Delgany Village Blackberry Lane/Priory Road."

The name Eamon De Buitlear Park  was proposed within DCC about 2 years ago, and when it was put to Lailli she was enthusiastic. I know there is a more recent proposal to use that name on the proposed community centre (HSE building), so perhaps both could use the name. Anyway that is all for the future, and the text in this document is 2 years old. But it can all be updated in an ongoing way according to the wishes of DCC and the community.

The name "Glenowen" as it appears on the old map was an alternative name used for Stylebawn, at one time. Click on Maps to Enlarge Above and Download Document describing the PARK HERE.
