DELGANY TIDY TOWNS (DTT)

Delgany Tidy Towns has a fully voluntary team that aims to work with the local community to bring out the very best in our village.   We welcome anyone who would like to get involved and do not ask for big time commitments.

Delgany Tidy Towns are proud of its role in helping promote awareness of our natural heritage and resources, and the conservation of habitats and species.  It is our mission to conserve our natural wildlife areas and enhance them where necessary so that they are passed on in a healthy condition to future generations.   We are working on the creation of walks and a recreational area that allow local easy access to Delgany’s natural heritage.

We encourage and promote environmental awareness and education including waste minimization and reduction to our carbon footprint.  We are always looking for local people, young and old, to come together to create a vision for Delgany that will result in a vibrant, active and sustainable community.

Delgany Tidy Towns are involved in and support many national and international campaigns, as well as participate in the Tidy Towns Competition and most recently were recognized with a special National Award on Communities and Waterways in 2021.

Delgany Tidy Towns was established in 1982, a former member is Eamon de Buitlear, film-maker, wildlife expert and environmentalist.
