The 2nd Annual Delgany Heritage Day will be hitting Delgany Village on August 15th full of food, fun and festivities for the family!

Join local businesses and residents as we celebrate Heritage Week 2026 with a festival in the streets of Delgany Village!

STREET CLOSED for THROUGH TRAFFIC - as we celebrate the 2nd Annual Delgany Heritage Festival! Enjoy the atmosphere of Delgany Village as local businesses and community groups celebrate the Heritage Village of Delgany! Live Music, On Street Food, Heritage Walk/Talks, Local Community Group Tables, Dog Parade/Contest, and MORE! This will be a great day to be out celebrating the best of Delgany Village. Please note there is no available parking in the village, so public transport/bikes/pedestrian access is prioritized. Those who need closer access can be dropped off at the road closure point by the Horse and Hound to enjoy the day!

There is no cost to participate, but we are asking for RSVP's so that we know what numbers are coming along!

EVENTS OF THE DAY:

9:30-11AM Delgany Tidy Towns Oopen House / Heritage Day Coffee Morning: Viewing of the Heritage Film featuring Delgany's Burial Ground Film and Tidy Towns reps 930-11AM at the Horse and Hound (Restaurant in Back)

1PM Tour of Christchurch - Aileen Lennon, Chair of DTT, leads a tour of Christchurch and its history

1-3PM Delgany Pharmacy - FACE PAINTING! In front of the Pharmacy

2PM DOG PARADE AND CONTEST! Join us at 2pm as we celebrate our four-legged friends with a Dog Parade and Contest (5 euro registration benefits Delgany Community Council); We are asking that your fave four legged friend be inspired to dress or accessorized as a historical local figure in celebration of Heritage Week! (Back lot of Horse and Hound)

Local Community Groups - Delgany Community Council & Tidy Towns

Calm Corner - Accessible/Autism Friendly Area off-street area with quieter activities and atmosphere

    Thanks for resubmitting your comments regarding the part 8 Process - over 83 were submitted and we look forward to the Part 8 moving forward with the filing of the report to the GMD and WCC this fall. Stay tuned for more!

    We are closing the street and bringing the Heritage Day back to the Village for it’s Second Run! From a morning movie premiere to an afternoon full of fun and music and more we look forward to hosting Delgany’s now best Annual Day again with the support of local businesses and the DCC.   • Old Burial Ground Project Now Featured

    DTT is proud to announce the publication of a new Old Burial Ground Storymap and Searchable Map on the Delgany Heritage Village Website! Links to a short film about the remarkable features of the Burial Ground featuring members of DTT (including Sheena Gogarty and Lailli de Buitléar,) can also be found through this link.

  • Greg Kavanaugh Buys Stylebawn

    Well-known Developer Greg Kavanaugh has purchased the grounds at Stylebawn for 1.75M from the receiver (formerly owned by Johnny Ronan) and has already been cleaning up the property and taking action to remove some of the four legged squatters on the property.   • Open House For Convent Road Attended by Residents & Businesses

    Tuesday March 10th residents and businesses attended a sponsored Open House by Delgany Community Council at the Horse & Hound Delgany to review the Part 8 submission for the Convent Road Village Scheme. It proved to be an informative evening and residents are encouraged to make submissions before the due date of March 26th.
