Welcome to Delgany Heritage Village

Why not give back to the community in 2025 and join us to help keep Delgany looking its best.

Be a part of our community!

We are always on the lookout for eager members to join our many community groups, including the Delgany Community Council and Delgany Tidy Towns.

We want to keep Delgany looking great all year round for residents and visitors alike. Delgany Tidy Towns is a team of volunteers who help in many different areas such as litter picking, weeding, planting, sweeping, fundraisers and more.

Tidy Towns is a great initiative to help towns and communities to come together to ensure their towns are great places to live in, work in and visit. We are looking for new volunteers to join us in 2025 - even if you only have 30 minutes to spare every now and again, every little helps!

If you are interested in getting involved or learning more join us on Monday, January 20th at 7pm in the Carmelite Monastery Delgany.

Cannot make it on the 20th? Email delganytidytowns@gmail.com with your contact details, we will add you to our volunteer mailing list and WhatsApp Group.

Current Issues and News from Delgany Village

  • Honeybrook Cottage Planning & Objections

Delgany Community Council will be objecting to the plans to demolish Honeybrook Cottage on behalf of the community. For those interested in submitting individual objections, all submissions have to be lodged by February 4th and they can be sent by email.

Delgany is a heritage village and has unique character as a result of its older buildings. As mentioned, the site in question is in an Architectural Conservation Area and deserves extra scrutiny as a result. As well as the loss of heritage we also have grace concerns regarding the impact on roads and traffic as well as the loss of habitat with felling of mature trees.

  • Convent Road Village Scheme - DCC and DVBA Pushing Safety and Timeline

Representation from the DCC and DVBA have been working together to prioritise a solution for Convent Road through the village, and will continue to work with the Greystones MD to resolve this issue short and long term. DCC’s own Paul Armstrong was featured in Greystones Guide earlier this month and gives a good history of the issue and how Delgany representative groups are working together with elected representation to move a solution forward.

  • Delgany Tidy Towns WINNERS!
